Dr Steve Mokrzecki bids farewell
After delivering 5000 babies in 23 years, Mater Private Hospital Townsville obstetrician Dr Steve Mokrzecki is moving on.
The much-loved member of the Townsville team has become one of the most esteemed and trusted obstetricians for local families, known particularly for his work helping couples conceive through IVF.
There are so many stories, and each one is different. It’s been a privilege to part of their journey.Dr Steve Mokrzecki
As a GP in the remote Queensland town of Ayr, Dr Mokrzecki’s own journey into fatherhood sparked a passion for obstetrics and gynaecology, leading him to take on specialist training at Mater Mothers’ Hospital in Brisbane.
A career built at Redcliffe, Ipswich and Bundaberg followed, before a move to the Townsville, which he’s called home ever since.
“After 23 years at Mater Private Hospital Townsville I have been seeing some young ladies that I delivered years ago,” Mr Mokrzecki said.
Dr Mokrzecki and his wife are trading the tropics for the something a little chillier, with a move to a group practice in Hobart, Tasmania.
Congratulations to Dr Mokrzecki and best wishes on the next chapter—he will be greatly missed by his colleagues and patients at Mater Private Hospital Townsville.
