Mater partners closely with other local providers in the region. We have a close working relationship with Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) including Townsville University Hospital (TUH) and often prevocational doctors will work in both hospitals. Mater also has a rotational relationship with North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS), for the delivery of Emergency Department (ED) rotations. NWHHS offers the unique opportunity to experience a rural rotation.
15 placements have been accredited by Prevocational Medical Accreditation Queensland (PMAQ). Mater Private Hospital Townsville is accredited to oversee prevocational doctor training for doctors recruited via the private health stream.
